All in all, it wasn't a bad game considering it was the first one of the season. The game started a little late and the Radars only had two women, but we let them rotate the women and they seemed to be able to keep up with that fairly well. Okay, okay, from on on I'll make the other team take an out for their missing women.
Defensive highlight of the game was Ron's unassisted double-play at short in the third inning; other great plays included a nifty Jes-Marc play in the second inning, and a couple of good outfield catches. Hitwise, Andrew had the only home run, but KarenT and Marc were both 3-for-3, and almost everyone got at least one hit. RBIs were knocked in by Andrew, Ron, Nancy, Marc (3), Amy (2), Earl, and Mary Beth. Blooper of the day: KarenC forgetting she'd put herself in the field and going off to play with the kids instead. :)
And then, a funny thing happened on the way to dinner... we couldn't get into Round Table, being beaten back by Palm Crest Elementary school kids. So, we went over to Hill Street Cafe where, much to Scott's horror, a big electronic gadget convention convened. Diners included Earl, Nancy, Jes, KarenT, Mary Beth, Jesse, Cassie, Ellie, Dave, Simon, JohnD, Ron, Marc, Scott, and Karen C.
Next game is Wednesday April 25 on field H2 (same as this week) against the Crawdads. I know we'll be missing KarenT, Andy, Liza, and Shaunna. Everyone else please be sure I know if you're coming or not. We have a suggestion of Soda Jerks for dinner next week, so that's most likely where we'll go (Jesse, don't let me forget!).
See you next week!
Karen :)
