Fate decreed it was the Crawdads turn to win this time. It looked really good for the Bruisers in the first inning, then we had that bad second inning, and were never able to catch up. Both teams played pretty well, although the Crawdads made fewer mistakes and were better in the outfield than we were last night. The Homers had better watch out!

Defensive highlights included a 1-2-&-3 first inning by Bob, KarenC and Dave, great plays by Bob (3B) to KarenC (2B) to get a runner in the second inning and by Andy (C) to BobbyJoe (1B) in the third to get a runner without bonking her on the head, and other good catches by Andrew, KarenC and Dave. Defensively, we had no home runs, but had triples by Bob and Dave, and Dave stole home in the 4th inning, blowing right past his third base coach when the Crawdad third baseman dropped the ball. We also experienced the first double-force in Bruiser history in the third inning (hey, if BobbyJoe says we're out, we believe him). RBIs were hit in by KarenC, Bob, Ron, JohnD, Mikael, KarenT, Dave (3), and Leo (2).

Our next game is WEDNESDAY MAY 15 against a new C League Team, JPL Interplanetary Death Squad, on field H3. We will be the visiting team. So far, I know we'll be missing Don and probably Jes, ScottM and Marc. Everyone please be sure I know if you'll be there or not.
