Well, this game went considerably better than last week, as we kinda held our own with the Radars. Having them playing with only two outs for three innings helped too. A couple of times, comments were heard to the effect of "are these really OUR Bruisers??" Yes, they are! I love it when we can scare the other team into thinking we'll pull ahead of them. :)
We had lots of pretty impressive plays, many by Andrew who tagged out two runners coming into third base in the first and third innings and caught a shallow blooper for an out in the fourth inning. Notable plays also include Jes' tagout in the fifth, Renaud's catch in center field in the sixth, and Mike's diving stop at short stop in the sixth inning. The bats were back as well, with two home runs by Scott (sorry honey, no Homer points) and seven consecutive hits in the fifth inning. RBIs were hit by Andrew, Scott (4), Nancy, Kent, Bruce (2), Jeff (2), Dave, and Liza.
Thanks to Dave and Mike for playing with us, and to Scott for returning the equipment!
Our next game is next Wednesday, May 17 against the Homers (so everyone get some practice this week!) on field H3 (the one by the ball-eating sewer). I know we'll be missing Scott (he'll be playing for the opposing team, Renaud (he'll be scouting players in France),) and possibly Jes (who'll be scouting players somewhere else). Everyone please be sure I know if you're coming or not.
See you next week!
Karen :)
