It was a Lakers-shortened game (actually, Natalie was afraid we'd pull ahead...) during which the Bruisers, despite questionable Cinco pinch-running, took as much advantage as possible of the Cinco's little league pitching style. All in all, we did pretty well..
Defensive highlights include two 6-5 plays to cut down runners at third in the second and fifth innings, a good heads-up 6-4 out to get a runner at second in the fifth inning, two 1-3 outs in the third inning, and a nice backpedal catch by BobbyJoe at first in the second inning. Offensively, the Bruiser bats were out (and mostly obedient) as home runs were hit by Ron Baalke (2) and Bob, and Ann hit a double AND a triple! Thanks to Jes for running for Ann. RBIs were knocked in by Scott, Ron Baalke (5), Garson (2), Bob (5), Ann (2), BobbyJoe, Shaunna, and Earl.
Our next game is next Tuesday May 15 against the Deep Space Cadets on field H3 (same as tonight). We're the home team again. So far, I know we'll be missing Earl, Jes, and Liza. Everyone please be sure I know if you're coming or not.
See ya next week!
Karen :)
