The weather started out nice but cooled quickly. Sadly our bats were also cool. Bob and ScottM both hit home runs, unfortunately with no one on base. Eric did manage to empty the bases, getting 3 runners in, with a single. "Just keep running" said the third base coach - good job! Ron had a triple, and Ann hit a nice double that would have been at least a triple if she was in full running form. Jes also hit a nice long single, and Bryan had an amusing single that one Radar dropped and another one next to him didn't manage to re-catch. RBIs go to Leo, Eric(3), Bob, ScottM, Ann, Don, Nancy, and John. BobbyJoe would get credit for two very nice hits but since he was playing for the other team - HMPH! Must have been the masterful pitching by Karen. You owe us some good hits, BobbyJoe! At least we managed to end the game "un-mercied".

Defensive highlights include Jes's snowcone catch of a high popup and a nice Ron catch in the first inning, ScottM and Ron catches in the third, Bob going for a fourth out in the fourth (sorry, can't save them up!), and a good tag by Leo of a runner on her way to third in the fifth inning. One thing to work on is what to yell when you don't want someone to throw the ball - Ann's yell of HOLD was interpreted as HOME by Bob and several others!

Next week's game is Wednesday 5/21 against the K.I.D.S. on field H3, and we're the visiting team. As far as I know, we'll be missing KarenC, BobbyJoe, ScottE, Mikael and probably Andrew (depends on his DL status). We have a bye the week of 5/28.
