Who came: Karen, Scott, Andy, Mary Beth, Tom, Bob, Linda, Abi, Marc, Dave, Jenny, Gary, Mike, Mark and Steve. This game celebrated the debuts of Tom (who sacrificed himself running for a long fly ball in left field) and Linda Spilker.
Who saw: Jessie, Ellie, Cassie, Emily and Max.
Who conquered: Them 20-10 :(
Who ate: Nobody. Next week, EVERYBODY stays for dinner after the game, okay? Plan for this! Everybody likes pizza, right?
Hey, PRETTY GOOD GAME, gang! We held our own through most of it, but let it slip (slip? okay, fly) away from us in the last inning. Some day we'll learn to quit the game while we're ahead, and not go for another inning just because the sun is still out.... We did hold them to zero runs for two innings, and at the end of the fifth inning we were actually ahead by one. Box Score:
Inning | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | Total | Cadets | 2 | 4 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 11 | 20 | Bruisers | 2 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 5 | 0 | 10 |

Really notable defense included Gary's two double plays (one being almost a triple), and two Gary-Marc tag-outs at home plate. We also made some miraculous catches, and some good force-outs. Sorry, but I've decided that offensive chuckles have to go to my race home with the Cadet third baseman who decided to try to chase me home, rather than throw to first. What WAS he thinking? We got some good hits, and had RBI's from Karen, Scott, Andy, Mary Beth, Abi, Marc, Dave, Gary and Mark. And, even though we had no home runs this time, everybody got at least one hit. :)
Our next game is next TUESDAY, May 20 on H3 (same as yesterday). We're the home team again (and then hopefully not again for a while). I already know we'll be missing Andy, Dan, and probably Mike, so be sure to tell me if you're going to make it to the game or not. Jenn will have changed jobs by next week, so we might not get to see much of her in the future.
We should get the schedule for more games by next week, so stay tuned.
See you Tuesday!
