Hey, where were Oreo and Cookie? Despite the crushing disappointment of their absence to the Bruiser kids, the Bruiser grown-ups trimmed the Fringes in possibly the longest game in Bruiser history. It started at 5:50 (waiting for Fringes to grow) and finally ended at 7:30 (yaay for the phantom woman out - hey, if you can't scrounge up enough of the right kinda players, you gotta pay the penalty). Maybe it only felt like 12 innings. Fortunately, we were the home team so we didn't have to play the bottom of the seventh inning, and also fortunately, it ended up the right way as we held them off and stretched our record against the Fringes to 2-0.

Bruiser defense did pretty good tonight, coming up with a bunch of nifty plays, including Nancy's nice one-handed catch in the fourth inning to redeem her blooper-reel non-catch of an earlier ball; Jes' good two-hands-plus-one-knee catch at second in the same inning; RonA's nice play to Rich to get a runner going to first; and KarenC's tag out of a guy sliding into (and past) third base in the sixth inning. Offensively, everyone got at least one hit in the game. Good stuff includes home runs by Rich and Scott, and triples by RonA and Andrew. RBIs were hit in by KarenC, RonA (3), RonB (2), Andrew (4), Rich (4), Amy, Mikael, Nancy, Scott (3), and Mary Beth. Many thanks to Amy who ended up doing most of the pinch-running for Jes and Ann, even though she never got to score!

Oh yes, and while I'm thanking people, I want to thank Andy and Ron for dealing with the game equipment last week (you saved me!). In my hurry to get the replay out before going on vacation, I forgot to thank them.

Our next game is Thursday May 31 on field H3 against Voodoo TOAD Fury (a tough team). We'll be home team again. I know we'll be missing Scott (he'll be at the Homers game on H2, so don't use him as a landmark), Jenny and Mikael. Everyone else please be sure I know if you're coming or not.

See ya next week!
Karen :)
