Well, so much for the
Homers' ""Home Run Derby""! HAH!!! (Sorry, I know that's unladylike, but
who says I have to be? ;)) We lost the game, but won the moral victory
in refusing to be the suckers in the Homers' little "home run derby" by
holding them to only five.
Bruiser defensive cheers of joy must
go to Bob and Karl (at short and first) getting two (at least!) close outs
at first base, surprising even their fastest runners. Also a highlight,
the first inning rundown of an over-confident Homer between first and
second by Karl, Clarissa and John -- wow! The Homers did deal out the
mercy rule first, but the virtual outs helped the Bruisers keep the score
differential to a controllable
level.
Offensively, almost
every Bruiser got least one hit. Both Bruiser homers were hit by Karl to
score 3 of our runs. RBS were knocked in by Karl (4), Shaunna, Clarissa,
Peter and Steve. Don't worry, there have been (and will be) games where
everyone gets more at bats than they did tonight. - Karl, you CAN'T go
back to Texas!!!
I'll see you on the 9th, but you all will see
each other on the 1st -- right?? Right!
See ya,
Karen
:)
