Big thanks to Shonte and Randy who came out to bolster the team! I think seeing Shonte walking across the fields towards us got a bigger cheer than either home run...
Box score: (caution should be used in viewing the following as it is rather graphic)

It was a Thursday and we haven't played on a Thursday yet this season.
We had no fans to cheer for us.
The sprinklers were on throughout the whole game on the field we should have been playing on.
Unfortunately, there are no really good excuses for how tonight's game went, although based on past history, we figured it might go like this against the TOADs. We were mercied in the first inning, but at least it took until the fifth inning before the TOADs double-mercied us (you're slipping, guys!).
We did have some good highlights of our own. Randy made some nice outfield catches, as did Shonte, and we had several great 6-3 and 5-3 plays to get runners (REAL outs!). Offensively, we had home runs from Andrew and Earl, and RBIs from Ron, Shonte, Andrew, BobbyJoe, Nancy, and Earl (2). Earl was sent to stand in the base coaches corner after sending Dave to second where he was tagged out. "Oops" play of the day came when a certain un-named right fielder winged a ball to second and accidentally hit the runner (it really was the right play!). Thanks to speedy Shonte for running for Ann.
Next week's game is THURSDAY June 7, on field H2 (the other field, by the water fountain) against the Goat Scouts and we are, once again, home team. I know we'll be missing Earl. Everyone else PLEASE be sure I know if you're coming or not.
Note: next week's game is the last one on the current-half schedule for us, as the following week is a bye. I hope to get the second-half schedule before I go on travel to England. If I don't, pay attention for email telling you when the game for the week of June 25 will be.
See you Tuesday!
Karen :)
