The Bruisers ended up with double digits as the Homers' defense collapsed in the 6th inning, having become complacent in the face of a double mercy. (Note: this is our closest scoring game yet... look out Homers, we're catching up!) During the game, Bob took a bouncer off his shoulder, and Homer Scott stopped his own potential home run by throwing his body in front of a ball coming in from left field at third base. Neither guy rubbed, and both tough guys claimed "that didn't hurt at all" afterwards.

Despite the first inning, we did pretty decently, surprising the Homers with a great outfield catch by Renaud (sorry Rich!), and several good infield plays. We even held them to a 2-up-2-down-0 runs fifth inning. Bruiser offense rallied at the end of the game, screaming out of the double mercy to double our existing run count and cause concern in Homer ranks. Home runs were hit by Andrew and Bob; RBIs were knocked in by Nancy, Andy, Andrew (2), Bob (3), KarenC, Marc, Jes (2), and Kent (3). Things to work on for future games: fielding, throwing the ball in, and covering the bases. Thanks again, Nancy, for being my runner.

Next game is Tuesday June 13 on field H3, and we're home team again. We'll be playing On The Fringes, a new team in the league. Word on the streets is that we have a fighting chance to get an actual win. We'll have Scott back on our side, and so far I only know we'll be missing Jes and Marion. Everyone please be sure I know whether or not you'll be at the game.

See you Tuesday!
Karen :)
