Wow. Ugly final score, but we still had a good time. There was much soccer player encroachment in right and center fields, but nobody managed to earn cash for hitting a soccer player with a fly ball (a couple of the guys made really good tries, tho'). Maybe next time! As someone commented "It's good to have a target if you're gonna hit that far".

Defensively, we actually did pretty well, as long as the balls didn't get past us in the outfield. In the second inning, Eric(CF) and Anders(RF) made awesome catches, and Anders demonstrated his ballet talents leaping for a flyball. ScottE(3B) made a really good running catch of a foul ball in the third inning, and BobG(LF) made a terrific catch that almost ran him into the fence. Nancy tried hard to tag a runner at third, chasing him down (or kissing his shoe, one of those; we think they have to get married now) back to the base. Offensively, we had three home runs -- two solo shots by Eric, and a 2-RBI shot by BobG. Dave had a triple in the second inning, KarenC hit a solid double down the third base foul line in the fourth inning, and Jesse was robbed of a hit by the meanie at third base in the sixth inning. RBIs were knocked in by Eric (2), BobG (3), and Nancy.

Our next game is Wednesday June 18 against the TOADs on the same field. We are the visiting team. I know we'll be missing ScottM and Andrew. Everyone else should let me know if they're coming or not, too.

Have a great weekend! Karen :)
