What a day... what a game! The weather was nice, we had enough Bruisers for two teams, and we actually pulled off the First Official Bruiser Win of the Year. In addition, we mercied our opponents in the 6th inning, having held them scoreless after the 3rd inning. Okay, so having to move the game to H-something-else because the sprinklers came on at game start wasn't so good... and neither was having sprinklers come on in the last inning, but that's okay. At least we didn't have sprinklers come on underneath us like the game on H2 did. :)
Defense was prime with good outfield catches, great 5-3 and 1-3 infield plays, and two 1-2-3 innings. Notable plays come in the 6th inning with KarenC catching 2 fly balls and JohnK snagging a really hard line drive at third from traitor Bruiser-turned-Fringe Brad "Pasty White Guy" Hines. The "most ungraceful out" award goes to Kent who tripped the runner at first catching a throw. Offensively, the Bruisers did very well, scoring in all but one inning and taking advantage of every Fringe error. Home runs were hit by Andrew (3-game home run streak), MikeG, Tim (2), and JohnK. RBIs were knocked in by Andrew (4), MikeG (2), KarenT, Mikael, Tim (3), Earl, Nancy, JohnK (2) and JohnD (2). Thanks again to Nancy for running for me, and for helping with the fielding positions.
Our next game is Monday June 19. So far, I know we'll be missing Scott, Andy, Mary Beth and Dave, Jim, and Marion. Everyone else please be sure I know if you're coming or not.
