The warm fires burners: Barb (1998 debut) & Kindra (Bruiser debut), Emily, Max, Claire & Toto. Special scouting visits by Marie and Maria (future playing Bruisers) -- yes please come back!!.

Most Dedicated BruiserBabe Award goes to Jenny, for coming to the game directly from LAX after her flight back from Washington DC.

Maybe it was simply the unusualness of having Sunshine in June... For the first time in Bruiser history, we were double-mercied. First mercy was granted in the third inning, and the second in the sixth. Oh, woe! But at least when we ended the game we had broken out of the double-mercy. :)

Hitting tonight was pretty good. No home runs, but we got a couple of doubles, and lots of singles. Everybody got at least one hit, including Jenny who only had one at-bat. RBI's were hit in by Karl (2), Steve, Kent, Clarissa, Gretchen, Mark, and Jenny. Fielding was a little sluggish in general, but we had some high moments, good snags, and heads-up plays (okay, maybe not by me when I got hit by the ball Andrew threw back to me at pitcher...).

Next game is Tuesday June 23 on field H3 against The O Zone. We'll be the home team again. EVERYONE please be sure to let me know if you're coming. I know we'll be missing Jenny (she'll be in Turkey; too far to commute for the game) and Andy (he won't be in Turkey).

Special notes: Karl's last game will be June 23, then he has to go back to San Antonio. Renaud's game last game is the following week, then he has to go back to France to teach them how to play softball. Farewell dinners will follow those games...
