Many things can be said about the game, but we'd probably have to give up our "family oriented" status to say them. So, we'll just remember this team as the mostly-nice D League team who's players would benefit from both relaxing and learning the C League rules. We won't even try to figure out why their score sheet showed the game as having played one more inning (and scoring themselves two more runs) than ours did. Fortunately, it was a beautiful afternoon, the kids had a great time cheering on the adults, and no one got hurt on the long grass and choppy ground.
Defensive highlight include an awesome running catch by Dave, a great 4-3 put-out by Jes to BobbyJoe, and the all-Andrew fifth inning in which he snagged a hard line drive, forced a runner at third, and tagged out a runner. Our only home run was hit by Andrew, and RBIs were knocked in by Jes, Ron, KarenC (2), Andrew (3), Jim, and Dave.
Next week's game is THURSDAY JULY 5 (the day after the holiday). The reminder will come out on Tuesday. I know we'll be missing Andy, BobbyJoe and Shaunna. Everyone else please let me know if you'll be there or not.
See ya next week and have a safe holiday!
Karen :)
