Wow... the Radars recruited some tough women from somewhere... they played harder than some of the men!  The Bruisers found themselves 'way down scorewise, early, getting mercied in the bottom of the second inning.  The Radars had a meltdown in the fourth inning, allowing the Bruisers to mount a comeback, but we didn't quite make it before KarenC declared she was too tired from running for our two non-running women to play "oh, please, Karen, just one more inning!"  Yeah, we'll all be glad when everyone can run for themselves again.  We did, at least, end the game out of mercy.

Here's how the Radar outs were made:  In the first inning, Simon(CF) caught a big long fly ball, then Jose(SS) got two grounders to Ron(1B). Ron made an excellent high stretch to get that second ball.   The second inning started with a mercy out, then Jose(SS) made an excellent grab of a hard line drive, then EricB(C) made a great catch while running thru bats, around a rock, over the gopher hole, over the river and through the woods uphill both ways to catch high foul tip.  In the third inning we started with a mercy out again, then Simon(LF) caught another long fly ball to center, then Jose(SS) got a grounder to EarlC(1B).  In the fourth, it was EarlC(3B)'s turn to catch ahard line drive, EricB(C) caught pop up, and Simon(CF) made a nice running catch of a big fly ball, narrowly missing a collision with Randy(RF) who made a good duck (call it loud, guys!).

Offensively, we only really did well in the fourth inning when we batted around plus one (Ann both birthed the rally and then killed it). Simon hit our only home run of the game, and Jeff and Ann hit triples. RBIs were earned by KarenC (2), Randy, Jose, Ron, Jeff (2), Jes (2), Rich, EricB, Liza, and Simon (2).

Next week's game is on Wednesday 7/14, and we'll be the visiting team against the Titans on field HN (dirt).  So far, I know we'll be missing Amy and a lot of our guys (Jose, Gerardo, EarlC, Paul, and probably Simon), so all the rest of our guys please be sure you plan to show up.
