Dinner attendees at Fuddruckers where the assist of singing "Happy Birthday" twice was followed by a demand (by an unnamed Bruiser) for cake which resulted in Snickers bites, and the whole room was kept air conditioned by the extra long eyelashes of the chick in the hooker outfit sitting at the end of the room: Cookie, Oreo, Andy, Jill, Anders, KarenT, Nancy, JohnD, Andrew, Earl, JohnK, Jes, Scott, and KarenC.

Well, it was a close game that ended in a tough loss. The Turkeys had their act together pretty well, making many fielders choice outs to cut down a lot of our runners. Bruiser Family Day had probably our biggest player base and fan base to date, which provided for a game full of a lot of off-field activity. It was great to see Jenny and the Taw kids and to finally meet baby Keenan!

Defensively, we did pretty well, letting only a couple of balls get by us in the outfield. We made a bunch of good infield plays, including a couple of great catches by Earl at first. The game ball took a couple of big hits, getting run over on two of the occasions when it sailed out into the street. Offensively, we hit a lot of shots that missed Turkeys (but that's a good thing), and managed to make them throw a couple into the street too. Everyone got at least one hit, Earl hit our only home run of the day, and RBIs were knocked in by Andy, Nancy, Andrew, Dave, Earl (3), JohnK (2), Kent, Shaunna, JohnD, and Mary Beth. I know that's only 13, but one RBI didn't get marked in the 5th inning, and it probably belongs to either Pat or Renaud (whoever hit in JohnK). Dufus of the Day award goes to your beloved manager who not only called out the wrong part of the line up once, but twice, AND forgot to bring the camera. Sigh. -- Hey, it was a long game, and it was getting cooooooold and my brain was freezing up!

Big thanks to KarenT for the yummy brownies and Nancy for the apricots.

Our next game is MONDAY July 17 against the Crawdads on field H2. So far I only know we're only missing JohnK. Everyone please be sure I know if you're coming or not.

See you Monday!
Karen :)
