The song of the day was "BobbyBobby Bobbbby BOBby Bobby Bobby" (written and performed by our very own Cassie Redding in honor of the awesome Mr. Gallagher). The weather was beautiful, the opponents were friendly, and it was a game that could have gone either way. The Turkeys took the early lead, mercying the Bruisers in the third inning, but the Bruisers battled back, holding them to only two runs in the last four innings, to win. The Turkeys hit a lot of balls to the outfield for the first half of the game, and almost all the outs in the second half were infield plays.

Offensively, we did really well. Ron was really busy at first, making an unassisted out in the fourth inning, catching a pop-up to get the final out of the game, and catching all manner of balls thrown at him from pretty much everyone in the infield. Ron also gets a base-coaching demerit, however, for calling Nancy out at third base on a close play. Jim rocked at catcher getting at least three pop-ups, including one for which he earns style points for his roll. KarenC made a full-contact out at second, holding onto a ball thrown in from the outfield. Bob made two great plays in the sixth inning to get outs, then lead off the seventh inning with a home run. Defensively, everyone got at least one hit except Kristen who made good contact but was robbed by the Turkey shortstop who made a miraculous snowcone catch almost with his back to the infield. Home runs were hit by Dave and Bob (2), and RBIs were knocked in by Ron (3), KarenC, Jim, Mark, Ann, Garson, Nancy, Dave (3), Amy, Earl (2), and Bob (3). Andrew went four for-four tonight and scored four runs.

Our next game is next Thursday, July 19, against the Gravity Fielders on field H3 (same as tonight). We'll be missing Andy, BobbyJoe, Jes, Marc, and Mikael (hey Anders, when are you coming back??). We'll also be missing Jesse and Ellie who are still on their scouting trip back east. And Andy, can we borrow your bats? People miss those too! Everyone, please be sure I know if you're coming or not.

See y'all next week!
Karen :)
