Hey! Who were those people? How come we didn't see the aliens come and replace the regular Bruisers with these other Bruisers? Good thing they returned them in time for dinner! Or, maybe Rachel was our good luck charm (Amy, you'll need to bring her back again so we can test that theory!) In a rare, but welcome, show of hitting ability, the Bruisers did what the Homers and TOADs were not able to do in their games this year -- double mercy the Wild Turkeys.

We didn't have very many notes on offensive highlights tonight. In the second inning Mandell(SS) made an almost-double play, and then flipped a ball to Jes(2B) for the second out; the third out came from a really nice throw from Rob(3B) to Pat(1B). Jes(2B) was involved in all three outs in the third inning. BobG(SS) made a great play fire a ground ball to Ron(1B) for one of the third inning outs.

We had two home runs, both hit by Mandell. Near as I can figure (because they didn't all get marked in so I had to try and figure it out), RBIs were earned by Randy (2), Fabian, Andrew (6), Ann (2), DaveS, Juan (2), Jeff, Ron, Rob (3), Pat, Mandell (6), and ScottE (4). Fabian left behind some scabs from last week's game sliding into third on his triple in the second inning. KarenC gets the night's Sneaky Feet award for making it home from first in the fourth inning. DaveS gets the "huh, what did he say?" award for mistaking Ron's "No" for "Go" and running through third base, sliding to a stop somewhere between third and home so as to not knock over Turkey catcher Sam. Remember, coaches: enunciate!! :)

Our next game is Wednesday July 20 against the Titans (new team in the league). We'll be home team on field H9 (fountain)

See you next week!

Karen
