- "Do you want to stop now?  Because we'll just keep scoring more runs" Titan mgr to KarenC in the middle of the sixth inning, having not called last inning before the sixth inning began The game result was pretty much as expected having played the Titans before, tho' we do note that we ended out of mercy.  It was no wonder their manager was so willing to take a phantom woman out for their third woman spot in their batting order, given that most of their men could hit to the other field and were willing to run over fielders.

Game notes were a little sketchy and all over the page, but this is what I think happened... In the first inning, Nora(3B) caught a popup, a Titan ran into a batted ball for the second out, and then Simon(SS) made an unassisted force at second.  In the second inning, we think Simon(SS) got grounders to Ron(1B) twice, and somewhere in there was a Titan phantom woman out.  One of the outs may have been Nancy(P) to Ron(1B)...  In the third inning, Simon(SS) ran out to short field and made a great catch of a little fly ball, we had a phantom woman out, and then we were mercied.  In the fourth, Simon(SS) fielded a grounder and fired it to Ron(1B), then Nancy(P) made a lap catch of a little liner (Surprise! It's in my glove!), then later she fielded a ground ball and got it to Ron(1B).  In the fifth inning, Simon(SS) made an out on second base, we had another phantom woman out, and then Simon(SS) got a grounder to Ron(1B).  In the sixth inning, Nancy(P) got a dribbler to Ron(1B), DaveS(LF) made a nice catch, and then they had yet another phantom woman out.

Offensively, our hitting wasn't quite as shiny as last week, but we did alright.  Simon hit our only home run, but we also had a triple by Nora and a tree double by DaveS.  Nora almost had a home run, but was tagged out at home when the pitcher made a lucky catch backing up up his catcher.  EricB gets the "What is he doing?" award for getting tagged out standing in between first and second bases while thinking he was safe there.  Nora does get a Twinkle Toes award for scoring on a dribbler in the second inning. Nancy gets a Sneaky Feet award for sneaking into third base while the fielders were distracted.  RBIs were earned by KarenC, Nancy, Simon (2), DaveS, Nora (5), Ron, and KarenT.
