Sometimes games get a little tense and not very much fun. Unfortunately, last night was one of those games. Perhaps for the Paper Tigers it was the frustration of being forced to play C League softball because there wasn't enough interest in D League to form an actual league. Perhaps they felt the Bruisers were simply not good enough for them (do we care? No). But the weather was nice, the kids had fun, and we had a good time anyway, so we won't bother psychoanalyzing last night's opposition any further except to remember "don't hit to their outfield 'cuz that Jeff Cornish guy catches everything!!!". Ah well...

We had some pretty good moves of our own, both hitting and fielding. Defensive highlight honors go to Brendan for his shoestring catch in the 4th(or 5th?) inning, and the JohnD(SS) Steve(3B)-Jenny(2B) double play by in the first. The only home run of the game was hit by JohnD, and Dave hit two triples. RBI were hit in by Dave (2), Mike, Steve, JohnD, Andrew, Beth and Rhiannon. The diplomacy award goes to Andy for clarifying the mercy rule rule.

As mentioned earlier, our next game is this coming Monday the IR Sox on field H2 (the one by the water fountain where Scott's team played today), and we are the home team.
