Our next game is this coming MONDAY AUGUST 7 against the OAO/UTA Hackers on field H2. We're the visiting team. So far, I know we'll be missing Andy, Dave and Mary Beth, Jes, and possibly JohnK. Everyone please be sure I know if you're coming or not!

8/3/00: BRUISERS WIN!

Need I say more? Well, actually, it was a forfeit win, with our planned opponents, Squeeze Play, having withdrawn from the league entirely the day before our game. But, knowing that we have some tough opponents coming up, we came out to have a practice.

In attendance: KarenC, Scott, Marc, Amy, Dave (Amy's hubby; recruiting points to Amy, of course), Nancy, JohnK, JohnD, Anders, and Andy. Afterwards, everyone headed to Mijares for dinner, except Anders who'd had to go back to work (yuck!).

The practice was good for us, and a lot of fun. We each got plenty of hitting and fielding time, some of us tried new positions, and we also practiced things like making double plays (well, Scott and JohnD tried to, anyway)... In fact, our practice went as long as the game on the other field (which we politely declined joining when they came seeking players to help their lopsided attendance, remaining true to our purpose to improve our own skills). Phew!
