It was our second matchup of the year with the Wild Turkeys. There were about double the number of Turkeys than Bruisers, I think. The game was wild, close, and, fun.
In the first inning, Jeff(SS) got a grounder to Ron(1B), Simon(3B) caught a line drive, then Randy(CF) caught a fly ball. In the second, Simon(3B) got a grounder to Ron(1B), KarenC(2B) grabbed a low grounder and threw it to Jeff(SS) for a force out, then Nancy(P) caught a waist-high bouncer and threw it to Ron(1B). In the third, Simon(3B) caught a popup, then threw to Ron(1B) to double off the runner at first, then Jeff(SS) picked up a hard grounder and threw it to Ron(1B). In the fourth, Jeff(SS) caught a line drive, Simon(3B) caught a high pop, and EricB(LF) caught a shallow fly. In the fifth, KarenC(2B) caught a line drive, Shane(LF) caught a fly ball, then Simon(3B) got a hard ground ball to Ron(1B). In the sixth inning, ScottE(C) caught a pop up at home, then the next hitter had a single, the subsequent hitter had a home run, and the Turkeys won the game.
Offensive highlights include Karen being robbed of a hit by... Jose, who caught the ball that bounced out of the third baseman's glove before it hit the ground (she was just trying to make him look good) in the third inning. Aside from that, we didn't really have any notes written down. Our only home run was by Simon in the fourth inning, and the rest of us had mostly singles throughout the game. RBIs were earned by Nancy, Simon (3), Nimisha, Jeff (2), ScottE(2), and Liza.
This report is late so our next game has already been won (a forfeit by the L.A Radars), and our next scheduled game is Monday August 16 against the Wild Turkeys on field HN. Please make sure I know if you're coming or not. See ya there!
