Attendees for dinner at Crown City (because technically we didn't lose the game): Eric, Ann, Dave, Jesse, Simon, ScottE, Andrew, Nancy, John, Trina (taking a midnight oil break), Leo, Ron, Anders, Earl, Nagin, Jes, ScottM and KarenC. Presentation of a signed game ball was made to Jesse in honor of his first game.

Things were rolling along really well until the last inning when we, once again, fell for the "there's still enough sunlight, let's play one more inning" line. Fortunately, thanks to the Turkey manager's honesty in taking a phantom woman out for their gal who left, we ended the game in a tie.

Game highlights included Jesse's first trip to the Big Game in catching the 5th inning, an appearance which included making the third (pop-up catch) AND fourth outs (tagging the runner coming in from third) of the inning. Other defensive highlights included some good outfield catches by ScottM and Dave, four 1-3 plays by KarenC, a good throw by Leo(3B) to Pat(1B) to get a runner, and a critical catch by Jes(2B) in the sixth inning..

Offensive highlights include a great heads-up belly flop by Jes to touch second base after the Turkey second baseman dropped the ball. Home runs were hit by ScottM and Ron, and RBIs were produced by ScottM(2), John, Andrew, Earl(3), Ann, Ron, Don, Dave, Mikael, Pat, and BobG. BobG gets the "Let the Girls Play" prize for snagging a ball from in front of Ann in the first inning.

Next week we have no game. Our final game is Monday August 26 when we will finish out this game against the Wild Turkeys, on field H3. This time we'll be the home team. I know we'll be missing at least BobbyJoe, Amy, Jes, Andrew and Dave -- everyone else please be sure I know if you're coming or not.
