Okay, except for the first inning, it was a pretty good game. Fortunately, they didn't score like that ever again for the rest of the game. Note to selves... remember the Cadets have guys who consistently line balls up the middle, and that Jim guy catches everything!
Defensive highlights include some good outfield catches by Scott and both Johns, a very nice throw from JohnK in center field to Bruce at third who placed a good tag on a runner, an awesome Bob BobbyJoe out to get the runner going to first in the fifth inning, and a squeaked-in pass from Jes to Ron to get a runner at first in the sixth. Defensively, our only home run was by Bob, with RBI's knocked in by KarenC (2), Ron (2), Ann (2), Eric, BobbyJoe, Bob, Jim, and JohnK (2). JohnK was denied what might have been a 3-RBI home run by a very late call by the Cadet catcher who took about a year to decide if the hit was fair or foul before announcing it. Jes' GQ was high (she knows what that means; if not, ask Ann). Blooper reel stuff must include Scott's interesting throw from to third base which landed, oh, some 50 feet beyond our dugout (oops! - that thing musta sprouted wings).
Our next game is next WEDNESDAY AUGUST 22 on H2 against the Goat Scouts. I know we won't have Andy, Marc, Bruce, Ron, Bob or Jes. Everyone else please be sure I know if you're coming or not.
Only two more games to go!
See you Wednesday
Karen :)
