Warm day... not a lot of notes... fun game (except for the overzealous guy)... nice to play our friends the Wild Turkeys one more time before the season ended. We did give Sam a little worry at the very end there, but Gerardo caught Simon's ball to end the game (had Gerardo not caught that ball, we'd have tied the game) :)

Turkey outs came thusly: In the first inning Karen(2b) forced a runner at second, Simon(3B) bobbled a hard grounder and recovered nicely to make the tag at third, then Simon(3B) fielded a grounder, tagged third for the third out, then threw to Ron(1B) for the fourth out (because you can never have too many outs, right?) In the second inning, Simon(3B) snagged a grounder and beat the runner to third base, we were mercied, then Simon (3B) caught a shallow fly ball. in the third inning, Simon(3B) got a grounder to Ron(1B), ScottM(RF) caught a long fly ball, and Simon(3B) got another grounder to Ron(1B). In the fourth inning, Shane(SS) caught a fly ball, Nancy(P) fielded a dribbler and got it to Ron(1B), then Shane(SS) fielded a grounder and stepped on second base for a force out. In the fifth inning, Shane(SS) got grounders to Ron(1B) twice, and then Simon(3B) got one to Ron(1B).

Offensive highlights include no home runs or triples, but lots and lots of singles. We actually started catching up, but had dug too deep a hole in the early innings to make it completely out. We did at least, end the game out of mercy. RBIs were earned by KarenC, ScottM (2), Randy (2), Ron (2), Nancy (2), EricB, Shane, and ScottE (2). KarenC gets the trooper award (yes, I'm giving it to myself) for staying both on her feet and in the game after the overzealous guy's bad throw hit her in the ankle and almost tripped her (and then he had the nerve to blame it on me!)

Next game is TONIGHT on the dirt field against the Eclectic Eccentrics. I'll have the party signup sheet, so please let me know what you'd like to contribute.
