August 19 vs. Gravity Fielders
Bruisers: Karen, Scott, Andrew, Shonte, BobbyJoe, Dave, Mikael,
Jenny, Renaud, Marc, Maren, Anders, Kenny and Mary Beth. Andy and
Kathy loaned themselves to the other team, and various Bruisers acted
as non-fielding (well, for the most part) catchers throughout the
game.
Spectators: Linda, Max, Jesse, Ellie, Cassie and Simon.
Burger Continental diners: Kathy, Kenny, Brendan (who, if you'll
notice, isn't in the players list tonight because he was at home
napping during the game; but hey, he got enough grief for this when
he showed up at dinner), Anders, Dave, Jesse, BobbyJoe, Peggy, Ellie,
Cassie, Max, Jenny, Maren, Emily, Jill, Andy, Mary Beth, Simon,
Scott, and Karen.
Defensively, everyone (except me), including both Andy and Kathy, I
believe for the G.Fielders, got at least one hit. Scott hit the only
home run of the game, and we got lots of little dingers that got past
the fielders. The Creative Running Award goes to Dave who managed to
beat a throw home, wade through the mass of bodies there, and step on
home plate without being tagged out. RBIs were hit in by Karen,
Scott (2), Andrew (2), Andy (before defecting), BobbyJoe, Dave (2),
Mikael (3), Renaud, Marc, Maren, Kenny, and Mary Beth.
On the offensive front, the outfield was a lonely place to play as
most G.Fielder hits stayed in or near the infield -- Karen caught one
little fly ball, Jenny caught two, and Maren caught three. Defensive
play of the game goes to Marc who made an all-by-himself double play
at first base.
And, we had no injuries that required medical attention.
Last game of the season is next Wednesday, August 25, against the
Crawdads on field H3 (corner/sewer field). As far as I know we're
only missing Jes, JohnK, and MikeF (who will have returned to
Victoria). Party dinner options are currently either Round Table or
Fuddruckers. If you have a preference for one or the other, let me
know! Majority will rule.
See you Wednesday!
Box score 1 2 3 4 5 Total
G.Fielders 4 7 2 4 0 17
Bruisers 1 4 5 7 0 17
The game was officially a forfeit because we loaned them three
people, but could have been an outright win if they had counted their
runs correctly in the fourth inning. We'll be honorable folks and
give them the benefit of the doubt, however, considering the fact
that the same G.Fielder player somehow earned a little wrath from
both Karen and Jenny during the game (sorry dude!).
Karen :)
