We didn't win, but we didn't lose either -- both teams accepting the game's end with a tie. It was actually a pretty good game, even with both teams collapsing at the same time. We were happy to see Gretchen, who stopped in to visit us before she moves to Henderson, Nevada next month.
Defensively, we did well despite that awesome grand slam (I think) home run by Turkey Bill who hit a shot down the left field side completely over all the outfielders in the fifth inning (wow!). Bruce made two amazing plays to first from his knees in the first and third innings, Mikael made a good throw to first in the fourth inning to get a slow-running Turkey, and Ron was all over shortstop, including a great throw to Pat in the third inning. Offensively, we had exciting stuff too, both running and hitting. KarenC managed to beat a throw to first in the first inning, Shonte beat a throw home in the fourth inning, and Jim gets the "Sticky Shoes" award for keeping his toe on third base before the third baseman could tag him out. Home runs were blasted by Jason and Bruce, and RBIs were knocked in by Bruce (3), Ann (3), Earl (2), Shonte (2), Eric, Mikael, Jason (2), Gretchen (2), BobbyJoe, and KarenT. An absent Jes gets the "Not now, I'm in the middle of a game" award for calling Ann's cell phone while Ann was on deck, and Nancy gets the "Who, me?" award for asking who was up to bat when it was, umm, her!
